Dear Dr. Davis:

Thanks for this blog post- I love your writing style and message. We Christians, unfortunately, can at times create barriers to Christ. Evangelizing to Christians is a creative and powerful concept.

I've got a blog and book- "The Reaonable Person- Due Process of Law, Logic, and Faith" (Createspace, June 2012); www-reasonable-person.com. Feel free to visit the website and I'd be happy to send you a book, if you would like.

Thanks again for your work and effort to keep the gospel clear and undiminished.

This has been placed on heart. Soon after Sandy Hook I found myself in arguments with everyone about gun control. But then I realized it's not gun control we need we must make sure this generation especially our children have God in their hearts. That they converse with God often but more importantly listen for His answer.

Thank you for this. May God bless you ministry and the work you are doing.

AWESOME!!!!!How's this:2 Corinthians 513 - For if we are beside orvlesues, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. (praise God for the privilege of setting people free with the gospel, but also, praise God for the opportunity of being "besides orvlesues")...anyway, that's not my point hahahah,14 - For the love of Christ controls us... (the what?...the LOVE OF CHRIST...not man)18 - All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling [3] the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us...how wonderful...we are given the ministry of reconciliation...which is what?...that God is APPEALING to man, "I am not holding your sins against you!"aahhh...lovely!

"Israel suffered exile and dispersion as a result of God’s judgment whereas the church experiences exile and dispersion as a result of God’s electing mercy."

That's great...what an interesting distinction! And both 'exiles' are meant to prepare and correct us. Let's sing our song of freedom while living through the exile!

Kirsten and I were talking about this a few weeks ago, when we read about some extended family moving to the city to pastor there and such. What stuck out to us as odd was just the use of "a love for the city" to denote a calling. The odd part is that it automatically points to an outsider perspective. So if you go around talking about moving to a neighborhood to "love the city," you put yourself in a weird spot with folks who've spent their entire life in a city anyway.

By far the best article I have read on ministry in the city. Wherever you live as a Christian you are on a mission to reach people with the gospel.
Hey John,

It takes a man with integrity to acknowlege when he is wrong, and bold enough to stand by it, especially when he stands to lose so much. It was easy for me to walk away IFB because I didn't have much invested there. Over the years I have seen some find their way to a more balanced approach to the Christian life for which I am thankful.

As Chuck Swindoll said so many years ago in Grace Awakening, we as God's people can no longer be silent or passive when it comes to the distructive forces of legalism. They were present in Jesus's day, they are present now. I thank God you had the courage to face the evils associated with the movement and see that much of it was based on human but sinful personalities.

People might not like to hear the message you preach but it is so necessary. Pharasees didn't like Jesus either.
